MINDFUL DESIGN & PRODUCTION PRACTICES

After over 30 years of designing for many well known brands and sourcing from near and far, Annemarie Furey has launched this line to offer beautifully crafted pieces which reflect her sewing and tailoring background and decades of relationships with apparel makers. Who makes our clothing and where it comes from matter. Just as consumers are more aware of their choices in food products, we seek to help educate them about how clothing purchases can impact social, environmental, and economic issues.

OUR DESIGNS ARE

BODY POSITIVE

We make clothes for a variety of body types.

OUR DESIGNS ARE

Timeless

Our designs are meant to be worn over and over again, across seasons and generations. These work especially well in a capsule wardrobe.

OUR DESIGNS ARE

Gender Fluid

Our shapes and colors can flatter a variety of people. We feature local models from teenagers through those in their 70’s, size XS – 2X, and a variety of backgrounds to show how varied our pieces can look.

OUR DESIGNS ARE

EARTH-FRIENDLY

Fully Fashioned knitting means that each panel is knit to size and then linked together. Whenever possible we choose this method as it eliminates the waste created by traditional cut/sew methods.

family owned factory featured story

One of our knitters has a rainwater harvest program. They capture rainwater to use for processes, test it to be sure it's OK after use, and then it irrigates an organic fruit & vegetable farm surrounding their factory that they also manage. Images show the front of the factory with the rainwater catch, irrigation, and crops. This means that there's no waste of the water resource.

About

OUR FABRIC

WOOL, COTTON, LINEN, CASHMERE:

Soft, Comfortable, Breathable Biodegradable & Recycleable. We source our fibers and trims from democracies too. Most of the wool we use is Australian in origin but we also have USA merino that combines with Vermont Baby Alpaca, and Wool from England in headwear styles. Our other fibers are mostly Indian in origin. Our yarns do not demand energy since they already exist at the knitter, do not increase production of yarn, and keep yarn out of landfills.

Colors are beautiful when natural fibers are dyed.

Natural fibers don't cause plastic microfiber migration* when laundred.

VISCOSE

Not all viscose is created equal. Our viscose is sourced from a source that grows more trees than they cut, thus increasing the green cover. We think transparency about this is important so you know you're not supporting the cutting of endangered/ancient forests. We asked them for an easily understood graphic and they sent us this (they have the best score at top of chart).
