We want to be sure that what you buy is something you're going to wear over and over again. While something might "fit you," we strive to pair garments to bodies that will really enjoy them. What's your body type? How do you like to wear your clothes? This will help us guide you to pieces that you'll feel comfortable in.
We make micro and small batches of our products. The majority are from dead stock yarns. This reduces waste and limits production. In many cases you're getting the last or almost last of a size and color.
We don't build in "anticipated markdowns" into our retails. This should help reduce impulse buying, and supports our goal of "Selling clothes to People, not Closets".
From time to time we place a style on sale for reasons such as "hard to sell at a pop up market," "doesn't sell well in our home base of Vermont," etc. That doesn't mean it won't be a good fit for YOU and we recommend taking advantage of anything that has been marked down! All sale priced items are final sale.
No. Just as your cotton jeans stretch as you wear them, cotton grows as you wear it, and "comes back" upon washing. Use a gentle laundry soap meant for delicates and reshape for drying on a towel or rack. If you want something longer you can stretch it but it will get narrower, if you want something wider you can stretch it but it will make the length shorter. In other words, when you add to one place you'll be taking from another. Do not put any of our sweaters in a dryer. The tumbling will agitate the fibers and may pill the surface. Please refer to our care tips for more.
Yes. A mesh bag prevents sweater knits from getting twisted and rubbing against one another. It makes the machine wash experience more like a hand wash one. Less twisting, less rubbing.
Annually, or before storing. If you spill something on wool, spot wash it with COLD water. Otherwise, for daily use, air out between wearing before folding for storage. If you wash a wool sweater it's critical to use laundry soap meant for wools. If you use regular detergent (even those without perfumes, hypo allergenic but not meant for wool) you may notice the handfeel becomes coarser, and the fibers may look pilled.
YES! Our parking is free, paved, and there's a paved way to the covered sidewalk, which then has a ramp to our shop. Our dressing room is literally a room, so it's large enough for a person and an assistant to be in at the same time.
